The Doctoral School for Population Studies and the History of Minorities was established by the CSUD decision with no. 12397 of June 29, 2016 within the Faculty of History and Philosophy with the favorable opinion of the Commission for research, excellence and human resources. The establishment decision was approved by the Senate of Babeş-Bolyai University in the meeting of July 25, 2016, having as members the following doctoral supervisors: prof. Ioan Bolovan PhD, prof. Rudolf Gräf PhD, Lecturer Ana-Victoria Sima PhD, Lecturer Ion Cârja PhD, researchers Luminiţa-Vasilica Dumănescu PhD and Ioan-Marius Eppel PhD. In the following academic year, researcher Tudor Sălăgean PhD was also co-opted in the structure of the Doctoral School for Population Studies and History of Minorities, by transfer from the Doctoral School of International Relations and Security Studies approved by CSUD decision no. 20742/17 October 2017. So far, in the internal structure of the Doctoral School Population Studies and the History of Minorities have been co-opted Alina Ioana Branda PhD, assoc. professor at the Faculty of European Studies, by Decision 7949 / 15.05.2018 of the Senate of Babeş-Bolyai University and Szilard Toth PhD assoc. professor from the Faculty of History and Philosophy, by Decision no. 8348 / 22.06.2020.
